Nicotine-Free Generation Youth Leaders’ Workshop
Princess Srisavangavadhana College of Medicine, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, in collaboration with the Consortium of Thai Medical Schools and the Medical Students Association of Thailand, hosted the “Nicotine-Free Generation Youth Leaders’ Workshop.” The event was held at the Princess Srisavangavadhana College of Medicine Building, Lak Si District, Bangkok, with over 50 medical students from various institutions nationwide in attendance.
On May 23, 2026, the Princess Srisavangavadhana College of Medicine, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, officially launched the “Nicotine-Free Generation Youth Leaders’ Workshop,” graced by the presence of esteemed executives and distinguished experts at the opening ceremony:
Emeritus Professor Dr. Rajata Rajatanavin, M.D., Acting Deputy Secretary-General of the Chulabhorn Royal Academy, presided over the opening ceremony.
Professor Dr. Chairat Shayakul, M.D., Deputy Secretary-General of the Consortium of Thai Medical Schools, served as Co-Chair.
Emeritus Professor Dr. Prakit Vathesatogkit, M.D., Distinguished Expert in Tobacco Control, served as a guest speaker.
Dr. Koong Heng Nung, Thoracic and Breast Oncological Surgeon from Singapore, served as a guest speaker.
Professor Dr. Suwanna Ruangkanchanasetr, M.D., Advisor to the Project Committee of the Consortium of Thai Medical Schools on Driving a Smoke- and Tobacco-Free New Generation.
Associate Professor Dr. Rattapon Thuangtong, M.D., Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
Associate Professor Dr. Narongkorn Saiphoklang, M.D., Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, Faculty of Medicine, Thammasat University.

The primary objective of this initiative was to cultivate knowledge and leadership acumen among medical students while expanding collaborative networks to advocate for a nicotine-free society. Furthermore, the event underscored the collective synergy among the medical organization networks, the Consortium of Thai Medical Schools, medical students nationwide, and the Princess Srisavangavadhana College of Medicine. This initiative aligns seamlessly with the strategic framework of community engagement aimed at fostering a healthy society through partnerships with national and international networks, ultimately striving to tangibly advance national health policy transformations.
