The Faculty of Medicine, Srisavangavadhana, was established under the royal initiative of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana on 18 May 2015. It was originally granted the name “School of Medicine and Public Health,” which was the first academic unit established under Chulabhorn Hospital, Chulabhorn Foundation. The School was founded with the vision of providing education and producing physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals in shortage fields, as well as offering postgraduate education to train researchers and specialists across various disciplines, contributing to the advancement of medical and health sciences in the country.
Subsequently, in accordance with the restructuring of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, the School of Medicine and Public Health was reorganized and renamed the “Faculty of Medicine and Public Health” and transferred from Chulabhorn Hospital, Chulabhorn Foundation, to the College of Medical Sciences, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, which is a part of Chulabhorn Royal Academy. The Faculty has continuously developed, offering modern academic programs at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, along with research and innovation achievements recognized at both national and international levels. It also established the Chulabhorn Volunteer Project, graciously permitted to use Her Royal Highness’s name, to support public assistance and improve the quality of life of the population, as well as other widely recognized contributions.
In recognition of its development and achievements, the Faculty was granted the new name “Faculty of Medicine, Srisavangavadhana – Princess Srisavangavadhana College of Medicine” by royal graciousness. The new name was officially approved by the Council of Chulabhorn Royal Academy on 8 October 2021, in celebration of the auspicious occasion of Her Royal Highness’s 64th birthday anniversary in 2021.

The Faculty of Medicine, Srisavangavadhana, is the 23rd medical school in Thailand to be accredited under the international standards of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), certified by the Medical Education Accreditation Institute (MEAI) and the Medical Council of Thailand.
