Assistant Professor Nontaphat Leerach, Ph.D. is an academic and researcher specializing in microbial immunology, with a primary focus on host–microbe interactions, macrophage dysfunction, and immunosenescence. His research investigates how pathogenic microorganisms and environmental stressors influence immune-cell function, particularly within the innate immune system. His work integrates microbiology, immunology, and pharmacology to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying inflammation, cellular senescence, and immune dysfunction. Particular emphasis is placed on RAGE–NF-κB signaling, macrophage dysfunction, and senescence-associated inflammation. His current research also explores bacterial extracellular vesicles, postbiotics, natural bioactive compounds, and small molecules as potential immunomodulatory strategies for restoring immune function and regulating inflammation.
