ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร. นนทพรรษน์ ลีราช เป็นอาจารย์และนักวิจัยด้านจุลชีววิทยาและภูมิคุ้มกันวิทยา (Microbial Immunology)โดยศึกษาปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างจุลชีพกับระบบภูมิคุ้มกัน (Host–Microbe Interactions) กลไกความผิดปกติของเซลล์แมคโครฟาจ และภาวะภูมิคุ้มกันเสื่อม (Immunosenescence) โดยเฉพาะความผิดปกติของระบบภูมิคุ้มกันที่เกิดจากเชื้อก่อโรคและปัจจัยแวดล้อม งานวิจัยบูรณาการองค์ความรู้ด้าน จุลชีววิทยา ภูมิคุ้มกันวิทยา และเภสัชวิทยา เพื่อศึกษากลไกการอักเสบ ความชราในระดับเซลล์ และการส่งสัญญาณที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการตอบสนองของระบบภูมิคุ้มกัน โดยให้ความสนใจกับ RAGE–NF-κB signaling, macrophage dysfunction และ senescence-associated inflammation รวมถึงการศึกษาสารหรือผลิตภัณฑ์จากจุลชีพ สารออกฤทธิ์จากธรรมชาติ และโมเลกุลขนาดเล็กที่มีศักยภาพในการปรับการทำงานของระบบภูมิคุ้มกัน
